Walpurgisnacht/Volbriöö - witch illustration

A fun little illustration, just for myself! I used to draw witches a lot as a kid. I suppose I tried to give this a more "Children's literature" feel than my other works.
Volbriöö or Walpurgisnacht is what we call the night before Volbripäev (Volbri day), the holiday of all witches and wise folk. According to folklore, this is the night witches go out to fly. Here in estonia, people also make bonfires and have large gatherings, especially students, like the university students in Tartu. There are a whole slew of traditions associated with this holiday here, but these have been quiet the past two years now due to the pandemic. I just start drawing witches each year so it's not much different for me. Apparently it has no relation to the saint that Walpurgis night is named after. It marks the beginning of spring and the month of May has definitely felt like spring and end of winter for me.
